Calderon, Yeats, and Garfinkel lead PTC

SCA alumni Davey Samuel Calderon and Melanie Yeats join Joanna Garfinkel as the new shared leadership⁠ trio for the Playwrights Theatre Centre, taking over from SCA alumnus Heidi Taylor (find bios for all HERE). TRACES (after Sophie Calle)

Tickets are now on sale for TRACES (after Sophie Calle) by the WaxFactory (the SCA's Erika Latta and longtime collaborator Ivan Talijancic), a site-specific immersive performance, video installation, and web project, for the Walker Art Center (725 Vineland Pl, Minneapolis). Presented in support of the exhibition Sophie Calle: Overshare at the Walker, TRACES (after Sophie Calle) runs October 28 – November 11, 2024, in downtown Minneapolis. More HERE.

The SCA's Laura U. Marks shared a reminder on her Instagram about the upcoming Global Climate Strike march on Friday, September 20, 2024, meeting at 1:00 PM at Vancouver City Hall (453 W. 12th Ave.), then leaving at 1:30 PM for the Vancouver Art Gallery (750 Hornby St.) at 2:30 PM. More HERE.

Gruben's Documentary Creation Workshop

Filmable's Filmmaker Spotlight

Filmable shared a great roundup of BC based filmmakers with work in the 2024 Vancouver International Film Festival, including SCA alumni Thea Loo (presenting the Canadian Premiere of Inay (Mama)), Liz Cairns (presenting the World Premiere of Inedia), and Devan Scott & Willa Harlow Ross (presenting the World Premiere of Preface to a History). Vancouver Guardian on Loo

Liquidation World, the multipurpose space run by SCA alumnus Katayoon Yousefbigloo, SCA PhD student Dave Biddle, and Maya Beaudry, have shared a video, Legalize Summer by Daisies., directed by Yousefbigloo, to promo the upcoming P.L.U.R.O.M.A. Resort '24 fashion show on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 8:00 PM at the The Polygon Gallery (101 Carrie Cates Ct, North Vancouver), presented to mark the closing of the ANTI-ICON: APOKALYPSIS exhibition.
