SCA Art Sale

The SCA Visual Art Student Union are hosting an art sale on December 4, 2024, from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, in Room 3340 here at the SFU School for the Contemporary Arts (149 W. Hastings St., Vancouver). Yoon does 1:1

The SCA's Jin-me Yoon is the latest artist to participate in the Vancouver Art Gallery's 1:1 Artists Select exhibition series, installing her works Untitled 10 (Long Time So Long) (2022) and Carrying Fragments (Untunnelling Vision) (2010) alongside Robert Rauschenberg’s sculpture Publicon – Station 1 (1978) in the VAG's Forecourt. First is a FREE panel discussion with Renée Sarojini Saklikar, Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa, Adam J. Frank, Peter Hatch, and moderator Betsy Warland, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 5:00 PM in the Djavad Mowafaghian Cinema here at 149 W. Hastings Street, Vancouver. Second, and on that same night, is a PAID performance at 7:30 PM in the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre, also here at the SCA, featuring compositions by Heiner Goebbels and Peter Hatch. It's a Wonderful Life: On the Air

SCA students Maddy Woodley (Stage Manager) and Hailey Gil (Assistant Stage Manager) are part of United Players' production of It's a Wonderful Life: On the Air, which runs November 29 – December 22, 2024, at the Jericho Arts Centre (1675 Discovery St., Vancouver). More HERE.

Sammy's dad, Jackson Chien 

The Source spoke with artist Jackson Chien, who's the Senior in Residence for the Coquitlam Heritage’s Intergenerational Sharing Project, as well as the father of SCA alumnus Sammy Chien, who is also the co-Artistic Director (with SCA alumnus Caroline MacCaull) of Chimerik 似不像. And according to Chien, the Intergenerational Sharing Project is also part of Ritual-Spective, an ongoing multi-media interactive art series, produced in collaboration with Chimerik 似不像. A/zar at What Lab
