Octophonic SFU-Concordia Exchange Concert

Studio T – School for the Contemporary Arts
149 W. Hastings St., Vancouver
Hosted by SFU Emeritus Professor Barry Truax, this concert presents an exciting group of new 8-channel soundscape compositions by student composers from SFU and Concordia, all of which have been mentored by Truax. The concert also includes two of Truax's own works, both not yet heard in Vancouver: Rainforest Raven and What The Waters Told Me. One of the Concordia pieces, by Kristian North, called Remiges, won the Hildegard Westerkamp prize in Soundscape Composition at last year’s JTTP Competition for young composers.
