Yoon news roundup
The Art Canada Institute has released Jin-me Yoon: Life & Work, a "critical biography" about the SCA's Jin-me Yoon by Ming Tiampo, which is free to read online or download. Access it HERE. Also, watch the video archive of the talk, 'The Art of Living amid the Rubble of Sedimented Histories: Here and There, Then and When,' with Sasha Su-Ling Welland, on Friday, October 28, 2022, which was presented in support of the SCA's Jin-me Yoon's exhibition About Time, running until March 5, 2023, at the Vancouver Art Gallery. With respondents Olivia Michiko Gagnon and Allen Baylosis and moderation by Olivia Lim, this event was presented in partnership with Asian Canadian & Asian Migration Studies UBC and SFU's David Lam Centre. Daniel talks in Mexico

Bitter and Laiwan mentor Wedge Residents
Urban Subjects, the "cultural research collective" of the SCA's Sabine Bitter and Jeff Derksen and Helmut Weber, and SCA alumnus Laiwan are mentors for 2022 Wedge Residents Phoebe Bei and Rain Cabana-Boucher, respectively. Administered by the Contemporary Art Gallery and Ground Floor, Wedge Residencies "provide early-emerging artists and cultural practitioners with the opportunity to work directly with a mentor to explore a research question related to the past, present and or future of 'Vancouver,' culminating in a public-facing audio output in 2023." Congratulations to all the recipients!
Standing Wave play O'Callaghan

Watch SCA alumnus and Sobey Art Award finalist Krystle Silverfox on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) HERE. The Sobey Art Award Exhibition runs October 28, 2022 – March 12, 2023, at the National Gallery of Canada. Liquidation World's new home
Liquidation World (a.k.a. Katayoon Yousefbigloo, SCA PhD student Dave Biddle, and Maya Beaudry) have announced a Grand Opening Exhibition at their new location (1965 Main Street, Vancouver), opening November 17, 2022, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, and running to November 30, featuring work by Yousefbigloo and other SCA folks, including Alex Tedlie-Stursberg, Andrew Curtis, Homa Khosravi, Marita Michaelis, Irfan Brkovic, Minnie Yung, Steve Hubert, and Wladimiro Woyno Rodriguez.
Graveyards and Gardens at CINARS and Deaconescu talks BLOT
SCA alumnus Vanessa Goodman and Caroline Shaw's collaborative performance installation Graveyards and Gardens is being presented on November 10, 2022, at 6:00 PM at the Centre Pierre-Péladeau (salle Pierre-Mercure) as part of the CINARS Biennale.
