12-year-old Emma drifts through the process of a challenging family loss, struggling with understanding the realities of a loved one’s passing. This film follows Emma at seven key moments throughout the 48-hour period of her grandmother's passing.

Amélia is a French-Canadian filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist based in so-called Vancouver. They have written and directed short films, amongst other visual art projects. In their practice, Amélia explores themes of queerness, language through metaphors based in memory, nostalgia and the fantastical.

This is a film I developed in my first year at SFU as an exploration of my growing interest in environmentalism and the different approaches to it. While this film critiques acts of extremism as a form of environmental protest, the story also talks about two broken boys and the complex dynamics of their one-sided relationship.
