Morelli curates the Quebec City Biennale

SCA alumnus Didier Morelli was announced as the curator of the 12th edition of the Quebec City Biennale, set to run in the winter of 2026. And as curator, Morelli also got to choose the theme: “Briser la glace / Splitting ice.” Congratulations, Didier! More HERE.

Marks shares CJPME's call

The SCA's Laura U. Marks has shared a link to join the Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East's email campaign call on the Government of Canada to "end the sale of Canadian military goods and technology to Israel." More HERE.

Live visual workshops for the Emerging Stage

Attention SCA students! The SCA Music & Sound and Production & Design student unions are teaming up to organize a performance series called Emerging Stage. Koochakzadeh-Yazd's Dožam/دُژَم

SCA alumnus Kimia Koochakzadeh-Yazdi has just release her newest album, Dožam/دُژَم, on all online platforms. Here's how she describes it:

Dožam, a five-piece album, combines traditional Iranian music with electroacoustic sounds and techniques, with each track being based on a specific Iranian mode. For each piece, I had the privilege of collaborating with a talented performer based in Iran—the place where I learned music and can truly call home.

Yamamoto at PAMS 2024

Maiko Yamamoto, SCA alumnus and Theatre Replacement's Artistic Director, was part of a Canadian delegation attending the Performing Arts Market in Seoul, Korea, organized by the Canadian Association for the Performing Arts and the Canada Council for the Arts as part of the Canada-Korea Year of Cultural Exchanges 2024-2025. SCA alumnus Kira Saragih wrote a text about Anna Banana’s exhibition Bananapost (20 Years of Fooling Around with A. Banana), which she discovered while work helping to improve accessibility in the grunt gallery’s digital archive. Read it HERE.

Bhullar calling

SCA alumnus Kaila Bhullar is working with Lobe Studio to organize an "experimental screening/listening event" in December, 2024, and is calling for "any sort of av works, including (but not limited to) short films, animations, music videos, gifs, or any other experimental creations" that "play with sound in immersive ways." Silverfox at the Jenni House

SCA alumnus Krystal Silverfox is the artist in residence for October at the Jenni House Artist Residency in Whitehorse, Yukon, organized by the umbrella arts organization ArtsNet in partnership with a collective of Yukon-based arts organizations including the Yukon Arts Centre, Yukon Film Society, Jazz Yukon and Music Yukon.
