Not cool!

Since PressProgress published this article (which was picked up by the CBC), SFU has announced that they have stopped working with Lions Gate Risk Management, who were apparently hired to surveil striking TSSU members. No matter your position on the ongoing labour action by TSSU, this is a seriously bad faith move from the get-go by SFU, which, we're told, allegedly started day one of the pickets. And as the article also reports, Lions Gate Risk Management's dubious resume throws some of SFU's self-identified priorities and values and into an uncomfortable context. We recognize that SFU have canceled this contract (and we hope all surveillance – right?), but this situation is, to say the least, very disappointing. All faculty, staff, and students, TSSU or not, deserve better than this, and more accountability from SFU, as well.
