Affinities: Suggesting relationships, likeliness, or resemblance in structure.   

Join us in celebrating the work of eight graduating scholars in the School for the Contemporary Arts' Comparative Media Arts MA program. Implying a metaphor for the development and scope of each participant's research, Encountering Affinities offers new ways of coming into understanding. Each presenter has gathered, explored, and related numerous fields of thought in order to develop their research, papers, and projects. Through a seeking and finding of relationships between mediums, theorists, artworks, performances, and bodies, these researchers have developed new processes, methodologies, and ways of encountering topics such as transmedia, queer studies, transcendence, embodiment, digital aesthetics, performativity, cinema, and curatorial practice.
