Sabrina Schroeder is Music on Main's 2019-21 Composer in Residence
The SCA's Sabrina Schroeder has been announced as the 2019-21 Composer in Residence for Music on Main. Here's how Music on Main, lead by Artistic Director David Pay, introduce Schroeder on their site:
What does the creative journey of a composer encompass? What does it mean to create music that moves audiences?
Enter Sabrina Schroeder, a composer-performer and Assistant Professor of Composition at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts. Using new technology like tactile transducers, live processing, and self-built mechanics, Sabrina’s immersive, palpable performances centre not only on her music, but on the body-feel that emanates from it.
Get to know Music on Main’s 2019-21 Composer in Residence as she digs into heavy sound spaces with the power to awaken mind-body connections.
We agree completely! Find out more about Schroeder on her website and watch a video of her work Bone Games – DARKHORSE below.
