Congratulations, Fay Nass!

Congratulations to SCA alumnus and Artistic Director of the frank theatre company, Fay Nass, for winning The Gina Wilkinson Prize, which awards $10,000 "to an inspirational theatre artist with a demonstrated body of work and who is recognized by their community (-ies) for their practice, leadership and dedication to their craft." Tacata's Scholarly Impact of the Week

The SCA's Ryan Tacata was featured in Simon Fraser University's "Scholarly Impact of the Week" for Artists and Elders, his excellent project with his For You Productions collaborators Erika Chong Shuch and Rowena Ritchie that sought to "relieve isolation and provide support by bringing seniors and artists together to create art." New(to)Town Collective's Wangh workshop

The New(to)Town Collective (SCA alumni Anjela Magpantay, Davey Calderon, and June Fukumura, and Avyen von Waldenburg) have announced a summer Expanse Workshop (EW) with Acrobat of the Heart author Stephen Wangh, running July 4 – 8, 2022 (with an Artist Talk July 9). Don't miss At the Speed of Light by the SCA's Peter Dickinson (and including sound design and music by SCA alumnus David Mesiha), which is streaming on Pi Theatre's website from March 21 – April 4, 2022. It's "pay what you can" to listen, and folks — especially students and others who might be financially insecure — can listen for "free" by entering $0, but contributions of any amount are welcome, too. Two for one: Laiwan's Traces, Erasures, Resists reception and Capilano Review's 50th launch

The reception for SCA alumnus Laiwan's exhibition Traces, Erasures, Resists at the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery is on March 19, 2022, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. More HERE. And as Laiwan points out, this is also the day of the launch of the 50th anniversary issue of The Capilano Review, which includes work by her as well as the SCA's Jin-me Yoon, plus many others.
