Mochizuki on Autumn Strawberry

Watch a video produced by the Surrey Art Gallery in support of SCA alumni Cindy Mochizuki's exhibition Autumn Strawberry, which runs until August 28, 2021. Watch it HERE. Boisjoly and Radul in The Sun Never Sets

The SCA's Raymond Boisjoly and Judy Radul will be presenting video works as part of The Sun Never Sets on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 9:00 PM in the outdoor garden of the Catriona Jeffries Gallery, alongside Abbas Akhavan, Steven Cottingham, Moyra Davey, Julia Feyrer, Rochelle Goldberg, Janice Kerbel, Kapwani Kiwanga, Veit Laurent Kurz, Tanya Lukin Linklater, and Christina Mackie. K BODY AND MIND is back!

K BODY AND MIND by SCA alumni Conor Wylie and A Wake of Vultures, his ongoing collaboration with fellow SCA alumni Nancy Tam and Daniel O'Shea, is screening as part of the Hamilton Fringe's "Films On The Fringe" series on July 23, 2021, at 7:30 PM. Tickets HERE.

Read some good press for the upcoming Vines Art Festival, created by SCA alumni and festival director Heather Lamoureux in 2015, which is returning to "in-person events at parks across Vancouver" from August 9 – 19, 2021. Sarah U – in spotlight and The Wall Speaks

Read a "member spotlight" of SCA alumni Sarah U on The Dance Centre's blog HERE. Also, U's latest work, The Wall Speaks, is included in the Quarantine Qapsule (QQ), which is "a digital archive of the Asian Canadian experience during the COVID-19 Pandemic BC," hosted by the Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Goodman's Tuning

Read good press for Tuning at the Dancing on the Edge festival, choreographed by SCA alumni Vanessa Goodman with and for dancers Alexis Fletcher and Ted Littlemore. Read HERE and HERE. Read SCA alumni Stéphane Bernard in issue 102 of Esse arts + opinions, dedicated to the theme of (Re)seeing Painting, on "Now Bulletin: Artworks, Letters and Printed Matter from the Garry Neill Kennedy Collection 1968 – 2019," which was presented by Griffin Art Projects from September 19 – December 12, in 2020. Jeffery's The Departed 2

Watch SCA alumni Daniel Jeffery's irreverent, rough-and-ready The Departed 2, featuring fellow SCA alumni Mackenzie Warner, Graeme Achurch, and Vladimir Fedulov and a rat mask by Ace Dixon. Produced for the 2021 Run N Gun: Vancouver's 48 Hour Film Competition, The Departed 2 was nominated for "Best Writing," "Best Sound Design," and "Best Performance," and ultimately won for "Best Editing" in the competition.
