Sound's busy schedule

SCA alumnus Michelle Sound is participating in a number of exhibitions. Her video work kîspin kisâkihin (if you love me), pictured above, joins works by SCA alumni Ghinwa Yassine and Xinyue Liu and current SCA student Ogheneofegor Goodness Obuwoma in the exhibition Response: Soft Action at The Polygon Gallery from January 26 – February 6, 2022. Sound is also in nimama is a tough cookie & Looking Beyond Ourselves with artist Phyllis Poitras-Jarrett at the Neutral Ground Artist Run Centre in Regina from January 29 – March 12, 2022, with Sound giving a (virtual) artist talk on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 7:00 PM (CST), as well. Opening next Friday, February 4, 2022, at the grunt gallery, Sound joins Lori Blondeau in Smokes, Sings Loud, which runs until March 12, 2022. Finally, read a review of Sound's exhibition okāwīsimāk nawac kwayask itōtamwak|Aunties do it better at the Indigenous artist-run centre daphne, which runs until March 5, 2022. Read it HERE.

Dongnier featured in film

Hill in the AGO

Unit 17 shared the news that SCA alumnus Gabrielle L'Hirondelle Hill's 2014 photo Monument to Piazza Italia has been added to the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of Ontario. Check out the photo HERE.

Upcoming as part of Theatre Replacement + Company 605's PushOFF 2022: on Tuesday, Feb 1, from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM (PST), Fascinator Management's Dani Fecko hosts a "manifesto-building question relay," and on Friday, Feb 4, from 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM (PST), Fecko talks with four artists presenting work in PushOFF 2022 – Anita Rochon from The Chop Theatre and SCA alumni Conor Wylie, Mahaila Patterson-O'Brien, and Amanda Sum – about "how cities inform their work and practice."
