Slade Barret Brown

Biography
Slade Barret Brown was born in White Rock, British Columbia, continues to reside in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland area Completing their bacherlor's degree in history with a minor in labour studies at Simon Fraser University in 2021, they have returned to the Department to pursue their Master's in History, focusing on settler-colonialism and working-class politics in Canada. Their thesis examines Vancouver Island's Esquimalt & Nanaimo Railway and its legacy, interwoven with land privatization, resource extraction, and capitalist autocracy.
Hoping to pursue a career in post-secondary education, Slade is delighted to serve as the International Trade Union History and Memorial Network's site editor and help preserve these important and inspriring stories.
