Biography
I am trade unionist, working as the Deputy General Secretary and Educational Secretary of the Pakistan Workers Federation since 2012. I joined a trade union in 2006 and was elected General Secretary of the CDA Mazdoor Union. My aim is served to educate workers and protect their rights.
Role as Deputy General Secretary
I am working as the Deputy General Secretary with the Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF). My basic responsibility is assisting the General Secretary on workers' issues. I organize all programs and members of affiliated unions; I also participate in conferences, workshops, seminars and programs on behalf of the General Secretary at both the national and international levels. I deal with organization correspondence with other national and international organizations and give updates to the General Secretary. I also assist organizations on legal issues.
Role as Educational Secretary
I have been working as the Educational Secretary with the PWF for the last 10 years on a voluntary basis. My basic role is to educate the workers on labour issues. I am also part of the PWF Production Team and we develop educational material on different topics. I visit throughout the country and conduct seminars, meetings, workshops and programs on labour issues. I give information and guidelines to workers on different issues when needed.
