Victoria Basualdo

Biography
Victoria Basualdo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She got her degree of BA in History from Universidad de Buenos Aires, and her MA, MPhil and PhD in History from Columbia University (New York). She is currently a researcher at the CONICET (National Council of Science and Technology, Argentina) and Professor at the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales.
Research Interests
Victoria Basualdo specializes in the field of labour history, the history of the working class and the trade union movement in Argentina and Latin America, from the mid-twentieth century up to date. She particularly focused on the impacts of Cold War dictatorships in Latin America and the transformations of labour relations in the last decades. Among her main research topics are the analysis of corporate responsibility in human rights violations, the recent history and memory of the working class and the trade union movement in Argentina and Latin America, and the importance of phenomena such as outsourcing and technological change in labour relations. She coordinates various research projects in collaboration with trade union organizations and labour groups.
