Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF)
The Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF) is a representative organization of workers in Pakistan, working to improve and protect workers' rights. It believes in negotiation and focuses on the labour movement in Pakistan.
The PWF was founded in 2005, with merge of three main federations of Pakistan:
- All Pakistan Federation of Labour
- All Pakistan Confideration of Labour
- Pakistan National Federation of Trade Unions
The current sitting General Secretary of the PWF is Ch. Muhammad Yaseen. The PWF functions in eight regions throughout Pakistan and has over 800,000 members and 400 affiliated trade unions.
The PWF is highly involved in the Pakistani labour movement, with former General Secretaries and Presidents in front-line roles from 1968 to 2011. It is also a social partner of the International Labour Organization in Pakistan.
