Kayla Charchuk

Biography
Kayla (Ella) Charchuk was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada), and still currently resides there. She began her post-secondary studies at Langara College in the Peace and Conflict Studies diploma program, but transferred to Simon Fraser University (SFU) in 2020 where she completed her degree. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Educational Psychology from SFU, graduating in 2023 With Distinction. She has been a member of the BCGEU and the TSSU since 2023.
Currently, she is a Constituency Advisor at her provincial riding's constituency office and actively collaborates with community organizations (such as the South Vancouver Neighbourhood House) on projects and events aimed to improve South Vancouver and build community. Also now working at her alma mater as the current site editor for this project, she has enjoyed comparitively examining the work of trade unions and the impact of labour memory efforts across the globe and throughout history.
In her free time, she enjoys singing with her local adult community choir, Spirit Alive Chorale, and performs musical theatre on community stages, having perviously performed with Theatre Under The Stars (We Will Rock You) in 2022.
She aims to pursue a Masters in Public Policy and Global Affairs, and later enter a career in legislation.
