TechConnect
SFU FAS TechConnect is a student-experience program aimed to ease your transition into the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS) at SFU. Each session is aimed at helping you to make the most of your university experience - socially, academically, and professionally.
Why should I participate?
TechConnect involves a series of sessions leading up to and including your first term at SFU:

As a TechConnect mentee, you’ll have the added benefit of connecting with student mentors declared in the same major and learn first-hand about what to expect from life at SFU!
Workshops Timeline
June
FAS advisors will help you with course planning for your first term through virtual sessions.
August
You will socialize with FAS mentors, professors and staff during this half-day in-person camp and get your systems ready for the upcoming term.
September
In this launch session, you'll learn how to get help from peer tutors and TAs. In small groups, you’ll also compete in team-building games for prizes!
October
Get help with course planning for Spring semester from FAS advisors. We’ll share in-depth information on: which courses to take, appeals process, WQB and elective options, as well as important School policies you may not know!
November
Wrap-up your first semester in FAS with food, games, and gingerbread cookie decorating content. Prizes will be given away to the best decorated cookie!
