Creating Opportunities Through Partnerships
While our students develop their core technical skills, they also engage in broader learning experiences to build leadership and professional skills. The Faculty of Applied Sciences collaborates with SFU faculties and schools on campus, overseas universities, and local and international industry partners. These collaborations open up a wide range of academic, research, cultural and workplace opportunities for both our students and our faculty members.
Research in Computing and Engineering Can Change the Future
Our mission is to conduct research that will make a significant impact socially, economically and intellectually. Our faculty, students and alumni are involved in local and international partnerships, and we maintain strong industry relationships to conduct research with practical and future commercial applications. Some areas of research include biomedical engineering, sustainable energy, mechatronics, natural language processing, network systems, computer imaging and medical computing, among many others.
