Mechatronic Systems Engineering Graduate Admission

Master of Applied Science (MASc)
To qualify for admission to the MASc program, applicants must satisfy the University's admission requirements outlined in the Graduate General Regulations 1.3 and
- must have a bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Science or a related area.
- must have submitted evidence that they are capable of undertaking original research in engineering science, and
- have identified a faculty member willing to act as their Supervisor.
Master of Engineering - Smart Manufacturing & Systems
Applicants must satisfy the University admission requirements as stated in Graduate General Regulation 1.3 in the SFU calendar, and hold a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in mechatronic engineering, computer science, or a related field.
The School’s Graduate Admissions Committee may recommend, at its discretion, admission to the Professional Master’s program to exceptional students without an undergraduate degree in mechatronic engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or a related field. Students who do not meet the minimum university requirements may be recommended as conditional or qualifying students as per Graduate General Regulation (GGR) 1.3.8 or 1.3.9. Doctor of Philosophy - Engineering Science
To qualify for admission to the PhD program, applicants must satisfy the University's admission requirements outlined in the Graduate General Regulations 1.3 and
- must have a Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, computer science or a related field
- must have submitted evidence that they are capable of undertaking substantial original research in engineering science, and
- have identified a faculty member willing to act as their Supervisor.
Accelerated Master's
Accelerated Master's pathway offers SFU undergraduate students who are working towards finishing their bachelor's degrees to take graduate courses to be counted towards both their bachelor's and master's degrees.
