Biography

Tom Murad, Country Lead of Engineering & Technical Excellence at Siemens Mobility in Canada, and the President -Elect and Board Vice Chair of IEEE Canada. A member of Engineering Order of Honour - Professional Engineers Ontario “PEO", is a respected Technology leader, thinker, Board Member, an award-winning Engineering Educator, and distinguished speaker on Engineering, Smart Technology and Technical talents / skills development and education, as well as an advocate of Innovation and creativity in the Areas of Digitalization, Smart Infrastructure and Industrie 4.0. In 2010, he joined Siemens as the Head of the “Expert House” and Engineering Director for Siemens Canada’s Industry sector, then prior to his current role he was Leading the Engineering , Technology & Academics for all Siemens Canada and also the founder of the Siemens Canada Engineering and Technology Academy "SCETA", that he directed since October 2014. Prior to joining Siemens, Tom was the Senior VP and COO of AZZ- B&S for many Years following an extensive career in Professional Engineering and Executive Management of Innovative Technical Operations including Academic and R&D work in Electrical power, Industrial Controls and Automation. He is also serving as a member of various advisory Boards of Directors in the Industry and Academia. Dr. Murad holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronics), and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Power Electronics and Industrial Controls from Loughborough University of Technology in the UK, with a Leadership Program Certificate from Schulich Business School, York University in Ontario, Canada.
