Injury Prevention and Mobility Laboratory

Human Ocular Imaging

The mission of the Injury Prevention and Mobility Laboratory at Simon Fraser University is to prevent injuries through biomechanics. We seek to generate important new knowledge on how injuries occur, and to use that knowledge to develop and evaluate interventions. We capitalize on emerging technologies, including video capture and wearable sensors, to generate real-life data for exploring the complex interactions between physiological, environmental, and behavioural factors that govern risk for injuries. Use the links below to explore ongoing research in three areas: falls in older adults, head impacts in ice hockey, and falls and injuries in mountain biking.

Areas of Research

  • Falls in Older Adults
  • Collisions in Hockey
  • Falls in Mountain Biking
