Distribution of Bottlenose Dolphins:
A total of nine confirmed oppotunistic sightings of bottlenose dolphins were recorded over the four field seasons of effort of the leeward coast of Domincia. In addition, there was one unconfirmed sighting of this species. The bottlenose dolphin is the most common species of cetacean around the world, but was only the third most commonly sighted delphinid during our work. Figure 7, below, identifies the location and distribution of all bottlenose dolphin sightings across all four field seasons. This species was sighted primary along the southern part of the coast and mostly inshore.
