Distribution of Sperm Whales:

A total of 119 sperm whale encounters were recorded over the four field seasons of effort of the leeward coast of Domincia. The sperm whale was the most often encountered species as research conducted was directed towards this species and it was actively tracked using acoustic methods. Figure 4, below, identifies the location and distribution of all sperm whale sightings across all four field seasons.

For distributions for other species, click on species of interest: pantropical spotted dolphin, Fraser's dolphin, bottlenose dolphin, false killer whale, humpback whale, short-finned pilot whale, melon-headed whale, Cuvier's beaked whale, striped dolphin, rough-toothed dolphin, Atlantic spotted dolphin, Gervais' beaked whale, and the distribution of unidentified sightings.
