Spatial Analysis

Cetacean Diversity :

In order to identify diversity hotspots, I ran the PATTERN operation in Idrisi on a raster of cetacean sightings in which cells were coded based on the species they contained. PATTERN uses the standard Shannon Diversity Index (e.g. Turner 1989) and a grid of 7x7 cells to do the calculation.
