ALUMNI INSPIRATION

Meghan Parker was the first Canadian to complete a comic book thesis in an autobiographical form at SFU. The 236-page thesis explored Parker's personal experiences and reflections as a new teacher in the public-school system.

"Since graduating, I've continued teaching visual arts in North Vancouver, making art, and I now have a 3 year and 1 year old twins! I am mentoring SFU teacher candidates and am considering a return to SFU in the fall to resume work with Dr. Lynn Fels and make more comics!"

Dominic Trevisan developed a research program using cutting-edge facial expression analysis software that helps to illustrate why some individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have difficulties using facial expressions and how this is related to the processing of emotions.

"Since graduating, I've been working remotely for a Medical Communications agency based in New York City. I work with pharmaceutical companies to develop disease education content geared towards healthcare professionals about new treatment options and evolving treatment guidelines for various diseases."
