I became a peer mentor to support students’ goals and allow them to have a successful learning journey. In addition, it will enable students to feel comfortable reaching out and asking for help. In my first year at SFU, I had many queries, and by asking my advisor gave me a sense of clarity. Being a peer mentor, I will be an extra assistance to the student's concerns.

What is your best first year memory?

My best first-year memory was joining the Muslim Student Association (MSA) club. I connected with friends and created a long-lasting community. By being close and connected with my faith, it has made a lot of memories!

Words of advice to new students?

We all encounter struggles, challenges, and obstacles; however, the importance of independence and perseverance took a significant toll on me. It has allowed me to continue to reach my goals and objectives in my learning journey. Lastly, Be open and never give up!

What are you involved in on and off campus?

Aside from being a peer mentor and being involved in the Muslim Student Association (MSA) club, I spend most of my time hanging out with friends and family off campus!
