I decided to become a peer mentor to help first year students become acquainted with university. I participated in the peer mentorship program as a first year students and it really helped me adjust to university.

What is your best first year memory?

My favourite memory from first year was Educ 100, I met so many awesome people in that class and it really made me want to pursuit education event more. Not to mention I had a wonderful professor Micheal Ling who made my first semester less nerve racking.

Words of advice to new students?

As an education student I would highly recommend volunteering in classrooms and getting as much experience you can working with kids. Getting involved on campus in various clubs and student groups like the Education Student Association is another great way to build your resume and meet like minded people.

What are you involved in on and off campus?

I am currently involved in the Education Student Association on campus and now the peer mentorship program. Outside of school, I worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor for many years.
