I wanted to make new students at SFU feel as supported and welcomed as I was when I first arrived, so I decided to become a peer mentor. To help new students get around and have fun during their time at SFU, I want to instill in them a sense of belonging and community.

What is your best first year memory?

Having attended the SFU Welcome Day, that has to be my favorite first-year memory. I had a great time at my first significant social gathering! There was so much energy, and it was a great way to meet new people. I felt like I was a part of the SFU community.

Words of advice to new students?

I tell new students to get involved in the SFU community and to be open to trying new things. Also never be scared to venture outside of your comfort zone, whether it's by approaching strangers, going to events, or just joining a club.

What are you involved in on and off campus?

One of the best choices I've ever made was to become involved at SFU, and I strongly advise you to take advantage of every chance that presents itself! I am involved in things on and off campus such as the SFU women's swim team!
