I chose to become a peer mentor to make a positive impact on the school and on new students. During my first year, I remember my mentor being so welcoming and uplifting that I wanted to be able to give the same experience to someone else starting this new transition.

What is your best first year memory?

One of my best first year memories was getting to meet new people around campus and being able to form many meaningful friendships. It was so great to be able to explore the campus for the first time and meet the people who make such a positive impact on my life.

Words of advice to new students?

Definitely get involved! Exploring clubs and events outside of classes can make for such fun and memorable experiences and gives you the opportunity to meet people outside of your faculty. Taking the time to explore the campus and the people who make up the SFU community is definitely worthwhile as it is made up of so many amazing opportunities and people.

What are you involved in on and off campus?

On campus I am active as a peer mentor! Off campus I am involved with my studies in French and education as well as my hobbies. I am often found hanging out with friends and family, writing a story, or working on acrobatics.
