Logos
Logo Usage Guidelines
Do not create or alter SFU logos, including additional taglines, calls-to-action, or other copy. Follow these usage guidelines when using your logo. Contact sfu-brand@sfu.ca for support.
Colour variations
Use the colour logo whenever possible, including on merchandise. Only use the black and white version (black SFU block with white letters) for grayscale reproduction. There are no reverse logo versions (white SFU block with reverse letters).
Placement
Avoid making the logo too small or crowding it with other elements. Place it consistently within compositions.
Logo requirements:
- Minimum size is 0.75” for print and 80 pixels for digital application
- Clearspace is equal to the height of the SFU logo block. Exceptions can be made for extremely tight spaces like digital display ads.
- The logo block should touch the left or top edge of the composition. When using academic unit or extension logos, horizontal versions should be aligned left, and vertical versions to the top edge. Exceptions to this rule are when a large safety area is required, such as in video.
- Logos should never bleed off two sides of the composition. On the edge that is not bleeding, use a minimum distance equal to the height of the SFU logo between the edge of the composition and the logo.
