Suggested First Term Schedule for High School Entrants - Fall 2024
The number of courses you take in your first term is up to you. We normally suggest you start with 4 courses rather than the maximum 5 as this will help with your transition to university level study. You can always reach out to the FCP advisor if you need help deciding.
The courses listed below are for students admitted to the French Cohort Program in Public and International Affairs (FCP) directly from high school. Please note that you must register in the F100 sections of the required courses listed below, as these sections are specifically reserved for cohort students. In addition, you will need to connect with the FCP Student Advisor & Administrator, Rachelle Hiebert at fcpmgr@sfu.ca prior to enrolling.
If you are transferring from a university or college, you will need to meet with the FCP advisor prior to enrolment to discuss your course selection.

Elective Courses
We typically recommend that you take 1 elective course* in your first term. While your elective course can be in any program area, you may wish to take a course that fulfills:
- one of your breadth requirements; or,
- a PDP pre-requisite, if considering teaching in French
*For some additional elective course suggestions, check out the FASS Fall 2024 lower division elective list
