Helping with university costs

Whether you are currently a graduate student pursuing your Master’s or PhD, or you are looking at becoming a graduate student one day, there are many awards that you may be eligible for.

General Awards

All applications submitted through SFU’s GA3 system. For all graduate studies internal and donor funded awards visit SFU’s awards page and use the academic unit drop down menu to select such as “education”.

There is an entrance award for Indigenous students initiating a research based masters or PhD program. By nomination only.

Help with awards

Helpful information can be found on SFU’s Graduate Studies website, including community resources, awards, student stories, newsletters, and videos. Follow their guide for Additional sources of funding and visit award application tips for some guidance on the application process.

Work study programs

Beyond scholarships and awards, work-study programs are offered at SFU for students to participate in paid research-based projects.
