What it is like to be a post-doc at SFU?

ABSTRACT

Ufuk will share his experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at SFU. He will also talk about what it is like to be a Post-doc in Canada. Ufuk will also present his previous and current research and the academic journey he has been on until now.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Anil Ufuk Batmaz has a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strasbourg/France. In his PhD, he worked on multisensorial constraints and how the human perceptual system adapts to these constraints during planning, control and execution of a complex task. In his MSc, he worked on optimization of wireless sensor networks and design of a multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle. He also worked as software team leader in a private company which is specialized in visual systems. His research interests include virtual/augmented/mixed reality, human-computer interaction, robotics, and human cognitive neuroscience. He is currently affiliated as Postdoctoral Fellow to the Simon Fraser University, School of Interactive Arts and Technology.
