Suggested First Term Schedule for High School Entrants - Fall 2024
The number of courses you take in your first term is up to you. We normally suggest you start with 4 courses rather than the maximum 5 as this will help with your transition to university level study. You can always reach out to an advisor if you need help deciding.
The courses suggested below are for students entering SFU directly from high school who are intending to major in Indigenous Studies. If you are transferring from a university or college we recommend that you meet with an advisor prior to enrolment to discuss your course selection.
Program Requirements
The following courses will fulfill program requirements for your intended major. We recommend you take both of them in your first term:
One of:
Elective Courses
In addition, we suggest you take 2 or 3 elective courses* in your first term. While these can be in any program area, you may wish to take a course that fulfills:
- one or more of your breadth requirements (B-Hum, B-Soc, B-Sci)
*For some additional elective course suggestions, check out the FASS Fall 2024 lower division elective list
