Criminology

Master's (MA) 

November 18 (Mon), 11:00am PT, Online (Zoom)

Students in the MA program in Criminology complete coursework and conduct original research leading to the defence of a thesis. Many of our students continue on to a PhD program or pursue a career in research, policy analysis, or teaching.

Doctoral (PhD)

Our PhD program in Criminology has a long-standing tradition of promoting academic excellence and supporting students to achieve their full research potential. We offer domestic tuition fees for international students, guaranteed minimum funding, active research grants, the opportunity to learn from top-ranked scholars, and more.

Economics

Master's (MA) 

November 6 (Wed), 4:30 – 6:00pm, Online (Zoom)

The SFU Economics MA program provides training in a wide range of theoretical, empirical, and policy-relevant fields. It is designed to prepare students for a career in the public or the private sector, or to pursue further studies in a PhD program. English

The English MA program develops scholars with a critical and comprehensive awareness of English studies. While offering specialization in one of various areas of strength in the department, the program requires a breadth requirement through course work and thereby grounds students’ interests in a wide and flexible understanding of English studies.

Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies

Master's (MA)

The Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies MA program provides a strong academic approach, with core courses on feminist theory and methodology and a blend of advanced studies in specific fields, as well as directed readings for more individualized study. Students develop and demonstrate intellectual and analytical skills, in accordance with the particular criteria of the level of study.

Global Humanities

Master's (MA)

November 20 (Wed), 11:00am PT, Online (Zoom)

Our Global Humanities MA program focuses on students who wish to pursue specific and advanced cross-disciplinary, text-based research projects. The program allows students to specialize in the context of a strong grounding in the humanistic tradition from the ancient world to the modern period in different cultures.

Public Policy

Master's (MPP) 

November 8 (Fri), 12:00pm - 1:00pm PT, Online (Zoom)

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program is designed to equip students with the skills and expertise to lead in government, the private sector, and non-profit organizations. Through co-op placements and partnerships with external agencies, students gain valuable professional experience and networks alongside their academic training.

This info session will discuss the fundamentals of public policy, program details, career opportunities, and the application process. You’ll also hear first hand from current students about their experiences in the program. The session will conclude with a live Q&A to address all your questions.

Urban Studies

Master's (MURB) & Graduate Diploma

November 6 (Wed), 5:30 - 6:30pm PT, Online (Zoom)

The Graduate Diploma in Urban Studies and the Master of Urban Studies prepare students to address the complex challenges facing cities today. They are great options for working professionals looking to expand their knowledge and career horizons. We welcome applications from prospective students with a wide variety of academic and professional backgrounds.
