This week, we have decided how our project will look like since we hope to create an unrealistic world that could give the player a sense of dream. We also confirmed what kinds of interaction we would like to add, and drew out all the storyboards. We met on Wednesday afternoon and finished part of the storyboard, because there were some details we need to discuss and do some researches first. During our second meeting on Thursday, we discussed details and storyline, and finished the storyboards.
This week we further developed our storyboards and decided how the “fantasy world” should be laid out.
Last week we decided to use the application MagicaVoxel to build all pixelated models. Starting this week, all group members began to watch online tutorials and get ourselves familiar with this new computer graphic application.
We understand that interactions play significant roles in this project, and it might take a long time for us to realize the interactions and animations we listed in the proposal, Starting this week, we try to implement the first major interaction in the “fantasy room” - pressing the button on the game controller to trigger Mario’s action.
Interaction - flip the book, grab the magic wand Continuing last week, we focused on how we can implement interactions this week as well.
Interaction - minimize the character, entering the miniature house In last week, we finished making the first and second interactions which are flipping the diary and waving the magic wand. This week, we continued making the interactions in the first scene.
Interaction - play with the music notes, open the cage door, free the pixie This week, we continued making the models for the pixelated room, and changed some position of the objects in it.
Final Project
This is our final week. We had finished most of things, and added more details. Some of digital models' sizes were not
fit properly, so that we built new objects into our world.
