This week we further developed our storyboards and decided how the “fantasy world” should be laid out. We were thinking of having multiple rooms with different themes, and players are required to finish one task in one room to get to the next one.
However, in this way which concentrates primarily on interactions, players may lack the opportunity to explore and interact with other items in the world and may lose their paces in the virtual world as well. Also, considering the limited time we have on this project, having multiple underdeveloped rooms won’t meet our expectations.
Thus, after careful consideration, we decided to develop a boarder-free room which is filled with a large number of pixelated items that we are interested in. To build models in pixelated style, we decided to use MagicaVoxel which is a free lightweight 8-bit voxel art editor to build all models in the “fantasy world.”
