"My friend in SFU... told me about what projects they were doing, and I thought, 'Oh, this is what I want to do.' I decided that I wanted to transfer to SFU on the spot.”

Justin Yu
Interactive Arts and Technology student
School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) student Justin began his post-secondary journey at another university. But after meeting an SFU SIAT student, his plans shifted: "...they told me about what projects they were doing, and I thought, 'Oh, this is what I want to do.' I decided that I wanted to transfer to SFU on the spot.”
He put his design skills to use by helping destigmatize mental health while on a co-op placement at SFU Health and Counselling. Outside of class, he rounded out his student experience through opportunities on campus to connect with other students. He's an executive of the popular Anime Club and a member of several others.
Justin is more than happy with his decision to transfer to SFU. " The professors are really good at pushing you to your limits and making you consistently improve. I have a lot to show in terms of my work because of SIAT.”
