Business student goes on a mission
Business student Steve Chen was among the 45 Canadian business and government representatives who participated in Canada's trade mission to Chile in 2003. Chen was one of two Canadian students on the five-day mission, which was led by the Department of International Trade. Chen was selected for the mission based on his involvement with Junior Team Canada, which helps prepare youth for careers in the global marketplace. Chen helps organize an annual training centre in Vancouver that brings youth and business leaders together. Chen represented Junior Team Canada on the mission to Chile, and established contacts that might result in a future youth trade mission to the South American country. Trade between the two countries has increased 32 per cent since the signing of the Canada-Chile Free Trade Agreement in 1998. For more information
