UniverCity
UniverCity, the new community on Burnaby Mountain, is set to welcome its first residents in September, 2004. With zoning for approximately 4,500 homes and 23,225 square metres of commercial and office space, UniverCity will take shape gradually over the next eight to 12 years, and in time, may be home to as many as 10,000 people. The first phase of the sustainable development, UniverCity Highlands, is nearing completion, and includes three condominium residences and a commercial complex. Eventually, the neighbourhood will include a variety of low- and mid-rise apartments and townhomes, a colourful village centre featuring shops and offices, and amenities such as an elementary school, a daycare facility, a local park, and an extensive network of pedestrian and bike paths.
