Our PhD program is designed to immerse you in academic research and connect you to world-class faculty from day one. We provide rigorous and research-intensive training, mentoring, and guidance that will act as a foundation to launch your career.
Our doctoral students can specialize in one of ten areas to provide them with the skills they need to succeed. Additionally, our program offers a competitive funding package among Canadian business schools.

Application process
We admit PhD students in the Fall semester (September). This supports the creation of a cohort of students and a common mentoring path for the faculty.

Applicants should provide:
- Official transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended
- Letter of intent for applying to the PhD program
- Current curriculum vitae (CV)
- Two reference letters
- Valid GMAT or GRE score
Students seeking admittance to the program for Fall 2025 must submit all supporting documents by January 31, 2025.

Our PhD program is located at SFU Beedie's Segal Graduate School in the heart of downtown Vancouver, British Columbia—Canada’s Asia Pacific Gateway and a growing hub for international trade, entrepreneurship, and technology.
