Housing Resources
The residences and routes to campus are accessible to most persons although, as disabilities may be unique, there is no way to ensure, in advance, that the residences and routes are accessible to all persons.
Residences
Some buildings, such as Shell House and the townhouses, are not accessible. For example, all townhouses (far west end of campus) contain stairs and lips on the doorways which make them inaccessible.
McTaggart-Cowan Hall, Towers B, C & D, Hamilton Hall, and Louis Riel House are accessible to students who use wheelchairs or power scooters. In fact, students with disabilities will be given priority in these residences, provided that the appropriate accommodation is available, and that all eligibility requirements and deadlines are met.
Routes to Campus
Accessible routes to and around the SFU campus are available, even if they are not the most direct routes taken by most pedestrians. For maps and more information, please see the Residence and Housing section of the Physical Access Guide for Burnaby and Harbour Centre.
