Social enterprise partnerships drive our community-driven initiatives, supporting local economies and embodying social responsibility. Across our three campuses, we collaborate with catering partners to ensure memorable food experiences at Simon Fraser University.

Campus: Burnaby
From morning breakfast buffets and freshly brewed coffee to a casual feast and elegant hors d’oeuvres, Carved & Crafted is committed to customizing menus as needed for any occasion on Burnaby campus. Whether your event is a breakfast meeting, a faculty luncheon or a conference, you will find that we offer fresh ingredients, creative preparations, elegant presentation and thoughtful service.
H.A.V.E.
Campus: Vancouver
A registered charity since 2007, H.A.V.E (for Hope. Action. Values. Ethics)'s culinary training program empowers disadvantaged individuals from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside and surrounding communities to achieve self-sufficiency through life skills, job training and employment in the food service industry.
The Lazy Gourmet
Campus: Vancouver
A Vancouver institution, the Lazy Gourmet is well known for catering excellence. After almost three decades, founder and president Susan Mendelson still feels passionate about delicious and beautiful food and believes that only the finest ingredients should go into anything she creates.
The Lazy Gourmet is the exclusive caterer for Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, Harbour Centre, the Goldcorp Centre and the Segal Building.
Pacific Coast Catering
Campus: Surrey
Since 2006, Pacific Coast Catering has been committed to creating menus that are globally inspired, locally sourced and crazy good. The truth is we love what we do—be it building an event from scratch, basking in the Pacific Coast sunshine flipping burgers, or getting the whole team involved in serving a group of a thousand people or more.
Rooted Indigenous Fusion Catering
Campus: Burnaby
In collaboration with Indigenous chef, Steph Baryluk, we've created a collection of fusion dishes inspired by Indigenous flavours and ingredients. Along with each dish, you'll find educational resources and personal notes from Chef Steph about the dishes or ingredients used and their cultural significance. Join us on a journey of culinary discovery and cultural appreciation as we continue to grow and expand our Rooted Catering menu.
Summit & Savour Catering
Campus: Burnaby, Diamond Alumni Centre (DAC)
Whether celebrating a wedding, ceremony, special event, or social gathering, this elevated menu exclusively catered by Chartwell’s will enhance every occasion, creating a memorable experience for all. Surrounded by nature and tranquility, guests at the Diamond Alumni Centre can savour unique, locally inspired flavors that reflect the region’s culinary heritage.
Tayybeh
Campus: Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey
Tayybeh--the Arabic word for “kind” and “delicious”-- is a social enterprise and full service caterer that employs and empowers newcomer and refugee women from Syria and other countries. Since 2016, Tayybeh has been bringing award-winning Syrian food to happy customers across the Lower Mainland. Tayybeh has won numerous awards including Western Living’s “Foodies of the Year,” the Georgia Straight’s “Best of Vancouver,” and the City of Vancouver’s “Excellence Award,” the Telus Small Business Award and is the subject of several documentaries.
