Scholarships
Department of French Scholarship
The scholarship will be given annually to a student pursuing a French major or a French honors program on the basis of academic excellence and service to the Department of French or the French department student union. Applications should include a resume outlining the student's volunteer activities.
The scholarship will be made by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee on the nomination of the Chair, Department of French.

Dr. Grazia Merler Scholarship in French or Italian
One or more scholarships, valued at $1,000 or more, will be granted annually in any term to undergraduate students who meet the following criteria: 1) are enrolled in full-time studies in the term of eligibility; 2)are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with a declared major or minor in French or a declared minor in Italian; 3) have completed at least 60 SFU units; and 4) are in excellent academic standing.
The scholarship will be granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee.Value: $2000 (may be awarded as one scholarship at $2000 or two scholarships at $1000 each).

Awards
Dr. Rosena Davison Award for Studies in France
This award, valued at a minimum of $1,000, will be given annually and is intended to provide funding to a student enrolled or accepted in an exchange program at a French university approved by International Services for Students.
Applicants must meet the following criteria: 1) full-time enrollment at SFU with an approved major in French; 2) acceptance to participate in an exchange term(s) or current enrollment in an exchange term(s) which is administered by SFU's International Services at a French university; and, 3) in good academic standing (minimum 2.00 CGPA).
Preference will be given to applicants who: 1) are enrolled in or attending a term(s) at the University Francois Rabelais in Tours, France; and/or, 2) are enrolled in their third year.
Applicants to this award should include: 1) a letter from the applicant clearly demonstrating their commitment to French studies; and, 2) documentation verifying the student's acceptance and/ or enrollment in an exchange administered by International Services for Students at a French university.
The award will be granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee upon the recommendation of the Chair, Department of French.

Dr. Phyllis Wrenn Undergraduate Award in French
The award, valued at a minimum of $1,000, will be awarded annually to an undergraduate student who meets the following criteria: 1) is enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's degree program with an approved major or honours program in French; 2) is in good academic standing; and 3) has been approved to participate and is currently enrolled in a field school or foreign exchange term(s) administered by SFU's International Services for Students at a university in France. Preference will be given to students in their 3rd/4th or honours year of study.
Applications must include: 1) a letter from the applicant clearly demonstrating their commitment to French studies; and 2) documentation verifying the student's acceptance and enrollment in a foreign exchange term administered by SFU's International Services for Students at a university in France.

Bursaries
Dr. Grazia Merler Bursary in French
This bursary be granted annually in any term to an undergraduate student who meets the following criteria: is enrolled full-time in the Bachelor of Arts program at SFU with a declared major, minor, joint major, or honors program in French; is in good academic standing; and has demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students in their third or fourth year of study. If a suitable candidate is not found in a given year, the earned income will be reinvested in the endowment. The bursary will be administered by the Financial Aid and Awards office and granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
