FAQ
Which version of Antidote does the Department of French give students access to?
The Department of French purchases licenses for the online version, Antidote Web. This allows you to correct texts on any computer, tablet, phone or Chromebook that is connected to the Internet.
What if I already purchased a personal subscription?
You can continue using the version you have purchased or, if you wish, you can opt to switch to the SFU Department of French organizational account and cancel your paid subscription (subject to the conditions of your payment plan).
I had already created an account offered through the Department in a previous term, but I have lost acess. What should I do?
According to Privacy laws (FIPPA authorities 26c and 32a) and the Privacy Impact Assessment between SFU and Antidote Web, student accounts and associated licenses will be revoked at the end of each semester and new accounts/licenses will be distributed at the start of each new semester. Therefore, all students are required to complete a new Antidote Web Enrollment Agreement at the start of each new semester to reactivate their account. Students may ask their instructor for the link to this form.
Help! I have filled out the Antidote Web Enrollment Agreement form for this semester and followed all the instructions, but I still cannot access my account.
If you have received the activation link from Druide informatique but are still having issues accessing your account, please contact frenmgr@sfu.ca for assistance.
I would love to have access to this, but my instructor has not mentioned it. Can I still get an account through the Department?
The Department's limited number of licences are reserved for students taking FREN courses at a level that requires a significant amount of written work in French. Those taking beginner-level langage and oral courses are excluded from this offer. If you are not sure, please check with your instructor.
