Local Spotlight: TMRW Foods
TMRW Foods will be hosting a Local Spotlight Pop-up in Dining Commons at lunch on Feb 15th, come try out their delicious plant-based products and read on to learn more about their company!
How Did TMRW Foods start?
It started with a little competition!
Rewind the clock to December 2017. Walk into the flour-dusted kitchens of virtuous pie, a plant-based pizza and ice cream company founded on the rainy west coast of Canada. What you’d see is a tight-knit team of foodies midway through an intense debate over which of them could create the best plant-based burger. The competition had begun.
By the time the flour settled in February 2018, one burger had risen to the top, and the seed of TMRW Foods had been planted: a company that would devote itself to tapping the full flavor potential of plant protein. More imaginative. More inventive. More creative.
In the years since then, we’ve opened a 5,000 sq-ft production facility in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, created a wide range of plant protein flavors and formats, and we’ve only just begun.
Tell us about your products.
TMRW offers nutritious and clean-label plant-based protein made with only recognizable ingredients and free from soy, gluten, and GMOs. It contains all the 9 essential amino acids making it a great alternative to animal protein.
TMRW Plant Protein comes in different formats including “Shredded Chicken Alternative”, “Pulled Pork Alternative”, “Ground”, and more currently in development.
Where can people find your products?
TMRW Plant-Based Protein is now featured in a plethora of recipes on HelloFresh menus. Our shreds are also on Daiya pizzas available in frozen aisles at grocery stores nation-wide.
Our products are also served at M!la plant-based restaurant as well as Virtuous Pie in the heart of Chinatown in Vancouver.
What’s coming up next for you?
We’re on a mission to create the best alternative to animal proteins that outperforms them in every aspect that matters. Aligned with our purpose of unlocking the potential of plants to develop a diverse range of flavorful proteins, we're exploring various formats that seamlessly integrate into any kitchen, boast full-bodied flavors, and can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of their dietary restrictions. We believe when plant protein is more flavorful, more nutritious, and more affordable, a more sustainable food system is finally on the horizon.
