The SFU meal plan is “all-you-care-to-eat” which means students have the opportunity to access SFU Dining Commons (located on Burnaby Campus) for unlimited food and beverages while dining at the location. Access to the venue is unlimited. Students pay one set price for the entire term.
When a meal plan is purchased, you gain access to Dining Commons by swiping an SFU ID card upon entry. Once admitted, there is a wide variety of stations with different food options to choose from.
Dining Commons is conveniently located at Residences on Burnaby campus
Students don’t need to worry about running out of food
No need to worry about grocery shopping, cooking or doing dishes

Our dining team works hard to ensure that those with dietary restrictions (vegetarian, halal, vegan, made-without-gluten) are able to find options at every meal.
The on-shift manager is always happy to meet with guests to discuss allergy or dietary restrictions. You can also make an appointment, Monday to Friday, with a manager by emailing dining_commons@sfu.ca.
A valid SFU ID card is required to access Dining Commons for meal plan holders. Follow these steps to replace your lost student card. Once you have a replacement card, please check-in with Dining Commons to ensure your new barcode is updated.
If you are living in NorthTowers, East/West Towers or Courtyard Residence, you are on a Meal Plan. You will be automatically set up on the 7 day basic plan.
Please visit the Residence and Housing office during office hours to upgrade or adjust your plan.
Living in McTaggart, Shell, Hamilton Hall or Townhouses? You can also sign up for a Meal Plan via MyPlace@SFU.

Your SFU student ID card is required to access your Meal Plan at all times: you must present and swipe your card each time you enter the Dining Commons.
Your Meal Plan is non-transferable: you may not transfer your Meal Plan or Dining Dollars to another students' card.
Meal Plans are purchased at the start of the term and valid until 1:00 PM the day following the last day of exams.
Students who purchase a 'platinum' Meal Plan, and have a Dining Dollar balance at the end of the semester can use the balance the following semester if a new Meal Plan is activated.

Refunds are available on optional plans up until November 1 for Fall term, March 1 for Spring term, July 1 for the Summer term. Eligible refunds will be prorated based on the number of weeks of the term and amounts will be prorated and adjusted to your GOSFU student account.
