She'll be hosting a pop-up with SFU Food on Nov 3rd in Dining Hall at 11:00am. Stop by to grab a sample with your lunch and read on to find out more about Marilyn and Panela Lemon:
What inspired you to start Panela Lemon?
Originally from Colombia, having learnt the art of baking from my mama, and financial management from an accounting degree, my dream was always to own a food related business. With a passion for a healthy and natural lifestyle, I combined my desires and skills to create Panela Lemon.
At Panela Lemon we make vegan stuffed cookies made from wholesome ingredients and sweetened with artisanal raw Colombian panela and coconut sugar.
Our cookies are handcrafted to perfection and made from carefully selected wholesome ingredients to bring you an exceptional experience.
We have a great variety of cookies including gluten friendly options. Our products are all vegan and delicious.
What advice do you have for aspiring foodpreneurs?
To build your own business is really hard, but patience and trust in yourself are key points.
What advice do you have for SFU students who aspire to have their own business one day?
It is important to get some advice from experienced people in your industry since the beginning of your idea/business. Plan ahead your goals and evaluate them as you go.
What’s coming up next for you?
We are planning on exciting cookies for the Christmast season. All filled with delicious gooey centers and made 100% from natural ingredients.
Our cookies are the perfect present, they are beautifully packaged to give you a unique experience. During the months of November and December our cookies are on sale, to celebrate the holidays with delicious treats.
