About Us

Established in 2004, the Faculty of Health Sciences is home to some of the most prestigious names in health science, including 3 Canada Research Chairs, 6 Endowed Research Chairs, and 7 Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. The faculty undertakes world-class, interdisciplinary research and educates the next generation of leaders in health science, aided in part by generous philanthropic donations and research funding.

Our interdisciplinary approach provides a broad perspective into health sciences. We also have several research challenge areas, where SFU faculty are tackling difficult issues in interdisciplinary teams:

Education

We currently offer 5 programs in the Faculty of Health Sciences:

In 2018, almost 1,000 FHS undergraduates completed co-op placements as part of their studies.
